Romans 2:12-29
Empty Religion Exposed
Romans begins by establishing that everyone, apart from the gospel, is under God's wrath and destined for judgment. But the Jews in Paul's day assumed they would be safe because they had God's law, a rich biblical heritage and an outward sign of belonging to him. Would these things give them any advantage on Judgment Day? How might we make the same assumptions?
Romans 2:1-11
Self-Righteousness Exposed
God has plainly revealed in the Bible that there is a future day when his judgment will come crashing down on humanity. Sadly, there people who think they are prepared for that day, but are not. How do you know if that’s you? This sermon unpacks the passage to find out.
Romans 1:18-32
When God Gives Up
Immediately after the opening greeting, Romans gets straight to telling us why we so desperately need what the gospel offers: because everyone, apart from the gospel, is under God's wrath. This sermon considers what God’s wrath is, why he’s is right to be angry, and where we see his wrath today.
Romans 1:1-17
Good News for Everyone
The letter of Romans is all about ‘the gospel of God’. Even Paul's customary greeting is packed with talk about the gospel. He was clearly excited about spreading it, and wanted the believers in Rome (and us today) to share his excitement for the gospel.
Titus 3:1-15
Transformed Community
The gospel benefits our communities when God's people do good to others. Also, the gospel gives us a new way to live in the community, whether out in the world or in the church. How God saves us should shape how we live in His world and with His people.
Titus 2:1-15
Living the Good Life
Want to live the good life but don't quite know how? Do you want to know how to work and live well at home and at work? Regardless of where we are, God's word in Titus 2 provides practical guidelines that show us how to live the good life.
Titus 1:5-16
What Makes a Good Leader?
Who our leaders are matters. We want good leaders but struggle to know where to find them. Often our idea of a good leader conflicts with what others think. So, what actually makes a leader worth their salt? God’s word in Titus 1 shows us what good leadership looks like.
Titus 1:1-4
How to be Spiritually Healthy
Mindfulness and meditation are popular nowadays as many people recognise the importance of our spiritual health. In Titus, God describes the spiritually healthy as having godliness. It begins within and has a positive impact on all of our lives. Why not make 2023 the year to improve your spiritual health.
Psalm 90
Number Your Days
The start of a new year is when many of us re-evaluate our life goals and the way we spend our time. Psalm 90 shows there is value in doing that (e.g. verse 12). However the real value is found in seeing our lives from God's perspective. This sermon explores what the psalm says about God’s eternity, our mortality and God’s mercy.
